How to reach Siruseri IT park through OMR

                                   With almost 25000 IT professionals working in Tata Consultancy Services alone ,Siruseri IT park invites so many people to travel through OMR daily.Since Siruseri is outside Chennai , almost everyone spends huge amount of time for travel.Most of them take company transportation services.Including those almost 200 buses traverse the IT Corridor daily.I stay in Velachery and take my company bus.On days when i cannot afford it , i take 570 MTC bus (there is an A/C bus too under the same route). Recently MTC released 570S which goes inside the park as well.The following are the bus routes available connecting Siruseri IT Park with other parts of Chennai.(Hover over the route number to know source and destination - click to find the route details)

                           MTC says that most of the commuters to Siruseri IT Park are from the following areas:
* Mylapore
* Saidapet
* Velachery
* Thiruvanmiyur

                             Also a study by Institute and Transport Development Policy shows that MTC and private buses account for 16 % of the vehicles on OMR but carry 63 % of the commuters.

                                On reaching SIPCOT(Siruseri IT Park) , auto services can be availed (they charge relatively high-  15 rupees for less than 1 km and 20 rupees for more than 1 km inside the park) . TCS  provides shuttle services in the morning for its employees.Recently MTC has employed few direct buses to the park too.The details:

Bus stops @ OMR

                                        OMR is almost a straight highway, taking a bus ride can be smooth except at few junctions like Tidel park and Shollinganallur.Though MTC offers nearly 400 trips a day, buses are often crowded.The hot sun adds to the uneasiness.There are a few AC buses though mostly taken by IT professionals working in software companies situated along the IT corridor.                                         To take these bus rides, commuters have to wait at bus stops situated along the road.There are 23 major bus stops as of now and two routes , one from Adyar to Kelambakkam and the other from Velachery to Kelambakkam.Both these routes meet at SRP tools. Can you spot OMR in the below satellite view of South Chennai? The roads starting from left are: 1.ECR (East Coast Road 2. Buckingam Canal 3.OMR (Old Mahabalipuram Road) Below is the map of old mahabalipuram road from Google Maps: View Larger Map OMR stretches over a distance of 20.1 km from Madhya Kailash to Siruseri which was built as part of Phase I and Phase 2 which is under construction covers a distance of 26.8 km from Siruseri to Poonjeri where it joins East Coast Road, That makes OMR almost a 50 km long highway!          Traffic at any time in OMR can be found here: Traffic at OMR Now Happy Ride!
