The birth of My OMR

                                  My OMR began as an idea when the curator of this website was travelling to his office located at Siruseri. It is a  long travel but a straight one with traffic interruptions just at few places, notably in Shollinganallur. He thought of doing something worthwhile and came up with the idea of developing a community for OMR. On his birthday he started a community page on facebook(https://www.facebook.com/omrchennai) . There has been steady support of fans for this page which has crossed the 10,000 mark. Adding to it , now this website has been created to update OMR riders with every happening and information on OMR.

                                   Be it the latest news/events or any commercial services/information we strive to keep the OMR Riders updated.

Bus stops @ OMR

                                        OMR is almost a straight highway, taking a bus ride can be smooth except at few junctions like Tidel park and Shollinganallur.Though MTC offers nearly 400 trips a day, buses are often crowded.The hot sun adds to the uneasiness.There are a few AC buses though mostly taken by IT professionals working in software companies situated along the IT corridor.                                         To take these bus rides, commuters have to wait at bus stops situated along the road.There are 23 major bus stops as of now and two routes , one from Adyar to Kelambakkam and the other from Velachery to Kelambakkam.Both these routes meet at SRP tools. Map of Old Mahabalipuram Road

Can you spot OMR in the below satellite view of South Chennai? The roads starting from left are: 1.ECR (East Coast Road 2. The 'Old' behind Old Mahabalipuram Road
